HELLO 〰️ HAI 〰️
I’m Nick.
Photographer, Food Stylist, Recipe Developer and Prop Enthusiast. I’ve been working in the food media space since 2012, but even before that, I worked in food and hospitality. Since we love a visual — see timeline below
-
My culinary journey is slightly unconventional, It all started with a nursing home (I worked in the kitchen, served residents, and did the dishes), from there I stayed in the service industry for another 10 years, through college and multiple states. I’ve cooked/served in a dive bar, pizza shop, Thai restaurant, Mexican restaurant, ramen shop, coffee shop, sushi spot, and a burger joint. (I also did a short stint on the night shift at the Vitamix Factory)
-
My first intro to the world of recipe writing, food styling, and photography was working on a cookbook (that went on to win a James Beard Award). I answered a landline phone while attending Macalester College and ended up spending the summer helping Amy Theilen create her first book. thankyou universe
-
I was hired at Jeni’s to be JENI’s assistant which quickly pivoted to me being the “art + design assistant”. I helped with everything from shop design, new flavor concepting and testing, food styling and photography.
-
My business today is a culmination of the skills I’ve gathered along the way. Hope to work with you soon.
